Let me tell you that quick little buggies and jeeps can add tons of mayhem and panic at flags! Some of the best games I had with BF2 was when we'd capture the airfield at Wake. In no time the enemy would hit us with armor from one direction and very fast dune buggies ( with mounted machine guns) from the other. They raised much mayhem by running over people and making suicide runs to destroy our jets when they would respawn. Everyone would be focused on shooting the buggies and not pay attention to the attack helos.

It was frakkin' awesome. Razz

Definitely looks like a badass game...a lot more vehicle oriented which could be good or bad depending on what you like I guess. Ive never really played BF so maybe im just weird. haha.

When you play BF there are always people who like using the armor, and they will almost always go for it. There are always people who play plane/copter pilots. They play so much they get very deadly with the aircraft.

I have seen many instances where people waiting for an aircraft to spawn were killed by another team member who also wanted the aircraft. You'd see that on public servers.

I'd usually play with the APC or Tank. I loved being the tank gunner.

As BF2 got older many servers were switched to infantry only servers. No vehicles meant that you'd be running a lot, as the maps were quite large.

I just found a nice video that shows you some good action on the Karkand map, which was the most popular. It's from a medic's perspective. It's an infantry only map. You see his squad run and take 4 bases before they start to encounter resistance. The action gets really good at the end of the vid where they try to cross the bridge to retake the bases on the island. I don't know how many times I bought it on that bridge! Mad

Looks like he turned off some visual options so that the game would run properly.

I found one more vid that shows good infantry combat and also some armor and helo action. You can see an arty strike and they are just as bad as the arty in WAW.
